Commissioners? Council?
Is there really a difference?
We have a petition circulating as a means of allowing the voters to vote on a referendum question concerning county council's ill-fated anti-discrimination ordinance. Chris Belles (one of the soon to be replaced council goons) published the following gibberish on his facebook page...
The new politics is transparency vs secrecy in government. In this country, the United States, we have a fine tradition of a secret ballot. When people decide to attempt to overturn the will of those elected, they act publicly, they become public figures, and their privacy is outweighed by the greater need for transparency. That’s what the Supreme Court decided in 2010. You don’t get to harass or harm anyone, but you ultimately have a right to know who is trying to legislate and override the voters through referendum. I’m proud to help bring this to the surface for everyone to have the knowledge they need to participate in the process.
Self-serving swill, for sure.
He was alluding to the fact that he and/or his allies copied and published 310 pages of the names and addresses of the petition signees, of which, I am one.
Yep, I signed the thing. In fact, I was eager as all get out. Drove up to HQ in Exeter and had at it.
I'm told to expect a visit from a member of the County Council's political Einsatzgruppen.
What I would tell you is not to waste your f*>king time. I am not easily intimidated. I never have been and never will be. So take your high-minded swill about not allowing voters to interfere with your utter brilliance and ram it up your snout!!!
F*>k off!!!
Sez me
